THE BEST FOODS TO ADD TO YOUR DOG'S DIET
1. Eggs - Few foods can beat eggs for their protein and fat along with vitamins and minerals. Most dogs have no trouble eating raw eggs, but it is fine to feed them soft-cooked or even scrambled eggs. Large dogs can have a whole egg, with smaller dogs a half.
2. Yogurt - A natural source of probiotics and inexpensive. Get the low-fat and plain variety. The probiotic provides benefits for all dogs, but especially dogs with digestive problems.
3. Sardines - Fish supply omega-3 fatty acids that are good for the skin and coat. In addition, they help regulate the immune system and reduce inflammation. It is good for dogs with arthritis, allergies or autoimmune diseases as well. It is also good for brain health so it benefits both puppies and senior dogs.
4. Vegetable and Fruits - berries are packed with antioxidants and bananas, apples, melon are good choices. Just avoid grapes and raisins as they can cause kidney failure in large quantities.
Leafy greens, carrots, zucchini slices, frozen peas and green beans are low calorie healthy snacks for dogs.
