William is doing great and enjoying going to new places now that he is old enough.
To find out if your dog is an ideal weight, using firm pressure, stroke along your dog's sides, behind the shoulders along the rib cage. You should be able to feel the ribs, like rubbing a washboard. The ribs should be easily felt, if you can see them, the dog is too thin. Looking at your dog from the side, you should see an indentation underneath and behind the ribcage. Looking from the top, there should be indentations on either side behind the ribs and in front of the pelvis, it's called a waist. and every dog should have one. |
